Your city tour commences with a drive passing the Bourke Street Mall, Queen Victoria Market, Royal Exhibition Buildings, St. Patricks Cathedral and visit to the Fitzroy Gardens with opportunity to inspect the Captain Cook's Cottage, built in 1755 by the parents of Captain James Cook. Originally located in England, the cottage was dismantled brick by brick and transported to Melbourne in 1933. Today, the Cottage remembers the remarkable navigational achievements of Captain James Cook and his life in 18th century England. Next, pay tribute to the soldier of war at the historic Shrine of Remembrance. Next, a visit to the Blue Dandenong Ranges National Park – home of the lyrebird, superb traditional gardens and towering mountain ash forests.
